City of Kristiansand

The City of Kristiansand is located in the south of Norway and is the 5 th largest city in the country. Kristiansand is known for its strong effort for a sustainable environment, and was by the Norwegian Department of Environment appointed as “City of environment” in 1993.

Kristiansand is the owner of the waste company RKR. Their target is to continuously develop Kristiansands collection system to environmentally friendly, customized and cost effective services for the inhabitants.

The municipal waste department's main task is to provide for the collection of waste. The collection itself is done by private and municipal collectors on assignment from the waste department.

All the households in Kristiansand use MaxAir and BioBags.
