Mater-Bi is developed and patented by Novamont, who is leading the research and development of compostable materials. The BioBags are certified biodegradable and compostable according European standard EN 13432, the strictest standard for compostable bio-bags. The BioBag can also be used by the food production industry, since the BioBag is EK certified in accordance with the packaging convention for food products.

The strengths of the BioBag:
  • The BioBag is made of cornstarch, biodegradable polyester and vegetable oil.
