Technical Information
BioBag products are made from compostable bioplastic materials based on starch and vegetable oils. These materials are not only degradabe, but certified biodegradable and compostable. The materials are easily compostable and biodegradable to water, CO2 and residual organic carbon (compost), leaving no harmful residues.
The materials are developed and patented by Novamont Laboratories in Italy. (Check out more info about Mater-Bi )
The physical and mechanical properties of these materials are similar with conventional plastic. However there are some major differences:
- They are compostable and biodegradable
- They are safe barriers for bacteria and virus
- They can be designed with a high or low water vapour transmission rate (WVTR) depending on intended application of the products
We have used the benefit of these special properties in our products.
